A true story ...
A number of years ago an employed salesman asked us to complete his tax return and expenses claim. Of course we duly obliged and obtained income tax repayments.
After two years our client had a business idea and asked us to prepare cash flow projections and budgets and to provide advice on the most appropriate method of trading.
When the business started we initially undertook the book-keeping, payroll and VAT returns until the business could afford an in-house book-keeper.
We continued to be actively involved in the preparation of management accounts.
The business expanded and incorporated and we prepared the statutory accounts and audit.
As several divisions evolved, we provided advice on the group structure.
The business suffered a downturn and we were engaged to prepare a business viability report.
The business then grew healthily and received a multi million pound offer it could not refuse. We advised on the Business Valuation and Capital Gains Tax implications and the residency status of the vendor.
Subsequently our role once again was to attend to the tax compliance affairs of the vendor until he recommenced in business and so the circle starts again.
Our philosophy is to undertake whatever work the client does not wish, or is unable, to undertake themselves which at different times of the business life cycle will vary.
