Directors and Furlough - this has been surperseded
Circular email to clients:
While I am not in the habit of repeating social media comments on technical matters I think Martin's Money Tips probably has sufficient clout to have an ear at the Treasury so many of you will be interested to hear that he believes that Directors can Furlough themselves which has been the subject of much debate today. Therefore worthy of circulating now I feel.

CONFIRMED self-employed limited company directors CAN be furloughed as employees on their PAYE element, even if they are sole employee.
Technically they can't then work for the firm, but can continue to perform their statutory obligations as directors eg official legal filings etc..

Sorry for the too-ing and fro-ing on this. But I have now had this rock solid officially confirmed and am happy with the info.
